About KnitFit

KnitFit: a community based effort helping those in need and supporting children’s literacy efforts while meeting new and like-minded fibre nuts.

All donated knit goods and products of the knit-a-thon will be donated to two charitable organizations: The Salvation Army Clothe-a-Family in Sydney and the Nova Scotia Department of Community Services in Victoria County.

Monies raised from pledges will be donated to the Cape Breton Regional Library to support library Children’s Literacy programs throughout the region, such as the Summer Reading Program, Babies and Books, Toddler Time, Preschool and Saturday Storytime Programs, After School Library Fun, and several new programs we’d love to offer if we had the resources.

  1. Hi, I’m moving from Wales to Kingsville, Inverness, this autumn. I love knitting, tho’ I never seem to finish projects! I ran a knitting group in my local pub, and would love to get involved with your group. Hopefully see you in Cape Breton soon!
