It’s that time of year again! Taking place Saturday, February 26 from 10am – 5pm at two locations – the Cape Breton Regional Library in Sydney and at the Baddeck Library in Baddeck.
This year’s finished items will be donated to the Every Woman’s Centre in Sydney and the Nova Scotia Department of Community Services in Victoria County. As always, pledges raised for knit-a-thon participation will be donated to CBRL Children’s Literacy Programs at the Cape Breton Regional Library.
Donation boxes for knitting needles, crochet hooks and yarn are now at each of the Cape Breton Regional Libraries. If you have extra yarn you want to donate or even if you have completed knit items and can’t make it to the actual knit-a-thon, please feel free to drop off these items at your local library branch.
Find a local knitter to sponsor; make a donation at a library branch of pledge money, knit goods, or yarn/needles/crochet hooks; or come prepared to knit and crochet the day away.
Never knit before? No problem! There are tons of experienced knitters to teach you, lots of needles and yarn and hours to get it right. Scroll through some older posts below to find a very basic hat and scarf pattern for your use. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your local library branch.
Pledge forms can be downloaded online at www.cbrl.ca or by clicking on the following link: Pledge Form 2011.
